Good night, sleep tight; forget the smartphone, alright?!

The amount of sleep a student gets is key to excellent academic performance. Students are so overextended that they often do not get enough sleep, so it is essential that the sleep that they do get is good sleep.

I have long recommended that students use a standalone alarm clock instead of their smartphone to wake up in the mornings. A cell phone offers too much temptation and can even produce anxiety.

The New York Times covered this today in an article entitled, “For a Restful Night, Make Your Smartphone Sleep on the Couch.” Read it here: http://tinyurl.com/k3pdzxt

In short? Sleep without distractions = Better academic performance. Sleep tight!
