There are many advantages and disadvantages to technology use in and out of the classroom. This is not a question with a simple “yes” or “no” answer. My response? Every learner is different. An iPad may be a wonderful for a kinesthetic learner, but wooden blocks might be, too.
In the classroom setting, students should be taught in varied ways that address all types of learners. In a one-on-one tutoring setting, a good tutor should identify the student’s learning style, and their lessons should reflect that. Whether that involves easels or e-books, or some combination of them, is up to each learner and educator.
